Reason: some holiday-makers are unable to speak the foreign language well enough. And some overseas pharmacists do not ask sufficient questions! Statistic: of 54 chemists chosen at random in Barcelona, Cairo and Istanbul, only 13 supplied drugs which were appropriate for the holidaymakers' conditions. Wise advice: put medication in clearly marked bottles, carry a separate list of your drugs and medical conditions, plus a letter from your GP confirming your prescribed medication.
